Online Linking Process (Aadhar Card with Ration Card)
- Visit the state PDS e-KYC portal: Go to your state’s official Public Distribution System (PDS) website or the National Food Security Portal. Each state usually has a dedicated e-KYC/Aadhaar linking section. Look for options like “Link Aadhar Card with Ration Card” or “e-KYC for Ration Card.”
- Enter details: Enter your Ration Card number and Aadhaar number (often the family head’s Aadhaar) in the prescribed fields. Make sure the details match your documents.
- Verify mobile and OTP: Enter the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. The portal will send an OTP to that number. Input the OTP to authenticate. This OTP-based verification links the Aadhar Card with Ration Card.
- Submit and confirm: After entering the OTP, submit the form. You should see a confirmation message or receive an SMS once the e-KYC linking is successful. It may take a few minutes to update; note down any reference number given.
Offline Linking Process (Aadhar Card with Ration Card)
- Visit your PDS outlet/CSC: Go to your nearest fair price shop (ration shop) or a Common Service Centre (CSC). Many states allow e-KYC to be done at the public distribution office itself.
- Submit documents: Hand over your original Aadhaar Card and Ration Card to the official along with the copies. You may need to fill out a simple application form. Ensure the details (name, address, card number) match on both documents.
- Biometric verification: The official will authenticate your Aadhaar by capturing your fingerprint or iris scan on a biometric device. This step physically links your Aadhar Card with Ration Card database.
- Get confirmation slip: After verification, you will receive an acknowledgement or confirmation slip. This is your proof that the e-KYC linking request has been submitted. Keep the slip (if provided) until linking is confirmed.
